New Block Inauguration

Pertaining to increasing demand of Admissions at Govt Jinnah Islamia College Sialkot and the need of new classrooms, Alumni Islamians took swift timely action. The Alumni and the former students of the college raised a huge amount of 10 million to construct a new block and gifted it to the college. Named by the renowned International Persian teacher and scholar late Dr. Khawaja Abdul Hameed Irfani, the inauguration ceremony for the upper storey of Irfani block was held on 1st September 2023 chaired by Secretary HED Punjab Javed Akhtar Mahmood. The chief guest was the renowned industrialist Engr. Khawar Anwar Khawaja. The guests of distinction were Mian Riaz, Faisal Manzoor, Dr. Khurram Anwar Khawaja, Hafiz Zulfiqar Shahid, DPI Colleges Dr. Syed Ansari Azhar and Director Admin Dr. Kashif Faraz. The ceremony was started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ahmad Ashraf, Naat by Sanan Afzal and National Anthem by the students of BS Urdu.
Principal Dr. Mujahid Hussain Bukhari gave the laudatory address and thanked the alumni and former students for constructing the much needed six classrooms under the leadership of Khawar Anwar Khawaja. Mr. Khawar declared the newly constructed block the fundamental need of the college. It is also worthy to mention that Anwar Khawaja family has been actively serving the college for the last two generations. In 1980, honorable Anwar Khawaja constructed Irfani block to meet the growing needs of the students. In 2023, when the college needed new classrooms, the son of late Anwar Khawja, Engr. Khawar Anwar Khawaja, Alumnus Mian Muhammad Riaz (founder Sialkot International Airport), Alumnus Faisal Manzoor (Chairman BOG, University of Sialkot), Alumnus Hafiz Zulfiqar Shahid (President Private Schools Association), Alumnus Dr. Abdul-Shakoor (Director Learning Zone School System) and the faculty members and students raised a huge amount of 10 million and constructed the much needed upper storey of Irfani Block within a very limited time of less than three months. In the end, Secretary Higher Education Department Javed Akhtar Mahmood delivered an invaluable speech in which he emphasized the students to work hard and eliminate the word ALAS from their life which make a person week. He praised the Principal and his team for this special job of motivation of Alumni for this noble work. He told that Jinnah Islamia College had set an example for other colleges in Punjab.
He awarded special shields to Dr. Yasir Zeeshan, Mr. Kaleem Anjum, Engr. Zubair Mustafa and Principal Dr. Mujahid Hussain Bukhari acknowledging the remarkable contribution. The college also presented special shields to Secretary HED, DPI Colleges Dr. Syed Ansar Azhar, Engr. Khawar Anwar Khawaja, Dr. Khurram Anwar Khawaja and former students Mian Muhammad Riaz, Faisal Manzoor, Hafiz Zulfiqar Shahid and Dr. Abdul-Shakoor.
Director Colleges (Gujranwala Division), Deputy Director Colleges (Sialkot), Principals, Professors along with worthy guests, media persons and huge number of male and female students participated in the inauguration ceremony.
